The roof line of the proposed building follows that of Canterbury mansions with dormer windows set within a sloping top storey. The proposed building uses decorative brickwork and light coloured brick banding to tie in with its neighbour. The curved brick corner repeats a similar treatment found on other prominent local buildings.
The proposal provides a new public plaza which allows for activity to spill out into Potteries Path outside the business units and community meeting space. This new public space would allow respite from West End Lane and would be fronted by a coloured glazed brick wall.
The new Potteries Path would provide a decorative brick face to the existing wall adjacent to the railway and would replace the opposite facing wall with front gardens and a new well-overlooked path.
